How much do online English lessons for kids cost in Tajikistan?
Quick answer
CurioKids plans for children in Tajikistan are priced in US dollars: 1, 2 or 3 live, 1-to-1, 25-minute lessons a week, billed every 4 weeks or weekly. The first lesson is free, with no card needed until you continue. Our Tajikistan page shows the prices once lessons there open, with a waitlist until then.
In Tajikistan, CurioKids plans are priced in US dollars, and the only thing that separates them is how many lessons your child has: 1, 2 or 3 a week, each one live, 1-to-1 and 25 minutes long, billed every 4 weeks or weekly. You can book a free first lesson without entering a card. This guide sets out how a card in somoni pays a dollar price, what you get for it, how the billing works through a school year that starts in September, when a lesson fits a family week in Tajikistan, and how to compare the cost with courses and tutors nearby.

Key takeaways
- Prices for Tajikistan are in US dollars, and a card in somoni is converted by the bank that issued it.
- Three plans, Starter, Growth and Accelerator, give 1, 2 or 3 lessons a week of exactly the same 25-minute, 1-to-1 lesson.
- 4-weekly billing means every payment covers the same number of lessons, so holiday months cost no more.
- Tajikistan doesn't change its clocks, so the lesson you book in autumn keeps its hour in spring.

How much do CurioKids lessons cost in Tajikistan?
Each plan is a number of lessons a week: 1 on Starter, 2 on Growth, 3 on Accelerator. Every lesson, on any plan, is 25 minutes with a real teacher, live and 1-to-1, in our online classroom.
The more lessons in a plan, the less each one costs, so Accelerator has the lowest price per lesson and Starter the lowest total. You don't pay extra to use the classroom or for learning materials.
What currency do families in Tajikistan pay in?
Families in Tajikistan see CurioKids prices in US dollars and are charged in US dollars. The country chosen at sign-up sets this, and the amount on your plan is exactly what goes to your card. With a card in Tajik somoni, the bank changes the dollar amount into somoni at its own rate, so the number on your statement may differ a little each time.
Stripe takes the payment, and CurioKids never sees your full card number. Before you subscribe, it helps to confirm with your bank that the card accepts international payments in dollars.
What do you get for the price?
Every plan includes the same: live, 1-to-1, 25-minute lessons with a real teacher for children aged 4 to 12, in the CurioKids online classroom with video, an interactive whiteboard, lesson slides and games. Most children start with Phonics Starter, our 52-lesson reading course, then move through CEFR-based levels Pre-A1, A1 and A2. Teachers give feedback after lessons, you follow progress in your parent dashboard, and there is no charge for materials. See our curriculum and safety pages.
Tajik is written in Cyrillic, so the reading course gives extra attention to letters that look familiar but sound new in English. English also has many more vowel sounds than Tajik, and teachers practise pairs like ship and sheep with games. The curriculum is CurioKids' own, not a school or exam programme from Tajikistan.
How does billing every 4 weeks work across the school year in Tajikistan?
Schools in Tajikistan generally start in September and finish ahead of a long summer break, with holidays in winter and spring too; your child's school can confirm the dates. Billing every 4 weeks rather than by month means no billing period ever has more or fewer lessons than another.
Plans bill every 4 weeks, not by calendar month, so every billing period has the same number of lessons: 13 payments a year. Every plan can be paid weekly instead, and paying every 4 weeks costs less than four weekly payments. You're charged when you subscribe and then at the start of each billing period. Your price is locked on your subscription, so future price changes don't affect you. You can change plan or cancel anytime, and cancel a single lesson up to 2 hours before it starts.
During Navruz in March, or a summer away from home, cancel the lessons that fall on days you'll be busy and keep everything else as it is. If the weeks around end-of-year tests feel crowded, Starter lightens the load until they're over.
When would lessons happen in Tajikistan time?
When you book, every lesson time is shown in Tajikistan time. There's no clock change in Tajikistan, so you won't need to move a lesson between seasons. After school, between about 4pm and 8pm, is the usual window for a 25-minute lesson, once homework is under way and before the family eats.
Saturday and Sunday mornings work well too, and if your internet is less reliable in the evenings, a morning slot can be steadier. Try a short video call at your chosen time first. Our guide to online lessons across time zones has more advice on timing.
Which plan suits a child in Tajikistan?
Many children in Tajikistan already juggle Tajik and Russian, and some Uzbek as well, so look at how much English they meet and how much energy is left for it:
- Starter, 1 lesson a week: a calm, regular hour of English for a child with a busy school week, or one who mostly needs confidence to speak.
- Growth, 2 lessons a week: good for practising new vowel sounds and reading, since hearing them twice a week helps them stick.
- Accelerator, 3 lessons a week: a child beginning English from scratch who is eager to make quick progress, provided the pace stays enjoyable.
Changing plan later is easy, so there's no need to get it perfect on day one. Our guide how many English lessons a week does my child need? helps, and online English lessons for children in Tajikistan explains English alongside Tajik and Russian.
How does the cost compare with language centres and tutors in Tajikistan?
In Dushanbe and elsewhere, parents tend to choose between group English courses at a language centre, a tutor at home, and lessons online. To compare them fairly, look at what each lesson gives your child:
- The cost of a single lesson once the monthly or course fee is spread out, and its length.
- How big the group is, and how many chances your child gets to answer and ask.
- What you lose if your child is ill on lesson day.
- Books, materials or entrance fees that come on top.
- Getting there and back: the fare, the time and who goes with your child.
Group courses are usually cheaper per hour because families share the teacher; in a 1-to-1 lesson the teacher listens to your child alone. Our guide 1-to-1 or group English classes: which suits my child? explains the difference.
Can families in Tajikistan start with a free lesson?
Yes. You open a parent account, add your child and choose a time, and nobody asks for a card. The teacher spends the 25 minutes getting to know your child, hearing their English and deciding where lessons should start, for children aged 4 to 12. Continuing is your choice, and if you stop there you owe nothing.
We open lessons country by country. If lessons for families in Tajikistan haven't opened yet, this page shows a waitlist where the prices would be. For what to watch in that lesson, see what to look for in a free first lesson.

Frequently asked questions
Are CurioKids prices for Tajikistan in somoni?
No, they are in US dollars. You can still pay with a card in somoni: your bank converts each dollar payment at its own rate, so the somoni amount can vary slightly.
What if our internet connection drops during a lesson?
Test your connection with a short video call at the lesson time first, sit near the router and keep the device charged. If evenings are unreliable, a weekend morning slot may suit you better.
Is there anything to buy on top of the plan?
No. The online classroom, lesson materials, teacher feedback and the parent dashboard all come with your plan at no separate charge, and the first lesson is free.
Can I change from one plan to another?
Yes, at any time. Move up when your child is ready for more lessons, or down during a busy part of the school year. Your price stays locked on your subscription.
