Cookie Policy
Every cookie and similar technology CurioKids uses, what each one does, and how to change your choices.
Version 1.0Last updated
The short version
- Essential cookies keep CurioKids working: signing in, remembering your country and language, and remembering your cookie choice. They are always on.
- Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) and advertising cookies (Google Ads and Meta) are optional. We use them only on our website and sign-up pages, and only if you allow them.
- They are never used in the app after you sign in, in the classroom, games or homework, or when your child uses child mode.
- If you allow analytics, your browser also sends us reports of errors on our website and in the app, through Sentry, so we can fix them. Error reporting sets no cookies and never runs in the classroom, games, homework or child mode.
- A cookie of our own remembers how you found us for 90 days. It keeps an ad click ID only if you allow advertising cookies.
- You can change your mind at any time with .

2.Where we use them
- Our website and sign-up pages: essential cookies, our “how you found us” cookie and, only if you allow them, analytics and advertising cookies.
- The app after you sign in: essential cookies only. Analytics and advertising tags don’t load there. If you allowed analytics, error reporting (Sentry, below) runs there too; it sets no cookies.
- The classroom, games, homework and child mode: essential cookies only. Nothing optional loads there: no analytics, no advertising and no error reporting.
- Your country, language, cookie choice and “how you found us” cookies are shared between our website and our app’s address, so the choices you make on the website carry over when you sign up. The sign-in cookie is used only on the app’s address.
3.Essential cookies and storage
These are needed for CurioKids to work and to remember choices you make, so they can’t be switched off.

4.How you found us
We want to know which of our campaigns bring families to CurioKids. This cookie of our own remembers how you first arrived. Only CurioKids uses it: if you sign up or send us a message, we save it with your account or message (see our Privacy Policy).

- Set by
- CurioKids
- Used on

ck_pending_click_ids- Type
- Session storage
- Set by

5.Analytics and advertising cookies (optional)
We use these only on our website and sign-up pages, only if you allow them, and only once we have set them up. Until you choose, Google’s tags are told that both kinds of cookies are refused (Google Consent Mode), and the Meta Pixel doesn’t load at all.
- Analytics (Google Analytics) shows us how many people visit and which pages help families.
- Error reports (Sentry) come with analytics: see below.
- Advertising (Google Ads and the Meta Pixel) tells us which of our ads led people to us and sign up, so we can measure our ads.
Google Tag Manager, which loads Google’s tags, runs on these pages so that it can respect your choice. While analytics and advertising are refused, Google’s tags don’t store analytics or advertising cookies, although Google may still receive basic information without cookies, such as that a page was viewed and what you chose.
Analytics
_ga, _ga_*- Type
- Cookie
- Set by
- Used on
- Website and sign-up pages
- What it does
- Google Analytics: counts visits and shows which pages help families, without telling us who you are.
- How long
- Set by Google (see Google’s policy)
Error reports
If you allow analytics, our website and app also load Sentry’s error-reporting script. When something goes wrong on a page, your browser sends Sentry a report so we can fix it: what went wrong and where in our code, the page address without anything after a “?” or “#”, your browser and device type, and the steps just before it (pages opened, buttons pressed and requests made, without what was in them). Reports don’t include your name or anything you type: email addresses, phone numbers and sign-in details are removed in your browser before a report is sent, and nothing records your screen. Sentry keeps the reports in the European Union and deletes them within 90 days. It sets no cookies and stores nothing in your browser. It never runs in the classroom, games, homework or child mode, or inside our mobile apps, and it stops when you withdraw your consent.

6.Changing your choices
The first time you visit our website we ask whether you allow analytics and advertising cookies. You can accept all, reject all non-essential cookies (just as easily), or choose each kind separately. To change your mind at any time, use the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page of our website, or this button:
- We remember your choice for 180 days, then ask again. We also ask again if we start using a new kind of cookie.
- If you stop allowing advertising cookies, we remove any ad click ID from our “how you found us” cookie and tell Google and Meta about your new choice. If you stop allowing analytics, error reporting stops too.
- Cookies Google or Meta already stored stay in your browser until they expire or you delete them. You can delete cookies, or block them, in your browser’s settings. If you block essential cookies, signing in and some choices won’t work.
7.Changes to this policy
We update this policy whenever we add, remove or change a cookie. The version number and date at the top show which version you are reading.
