For families in Armenia, CurioKids is priced in US dollars, with three plans that differ only in the number of weekly lessons: 1, 2 or 3. Every lesson is live, 1-to-1 and 25 minutes long, and you pay every 4 weeks or weekly. The first lesson is free, and booking it needs no card. Here we explain how a card in dram pays a dollar price, what a plan covers, how billing fits a school year starting in September, when lessons fit a week in Armenia, and how to compare the cost with the courses and tutors families in Armenia often use.

Key takeaways
- Plans for families in Armenia are in US dollars; if your card is in Armenian dram, your bank converts each payment.
- Starter, Growth and Accelerator change how often your child has a lesson, never the lesson: live, 1-to-1 and 25 minutes.
- You're billed in 4-week periods, so a long month and a short one cost the same.
- Armenia doesn't change its clocks, so the hour you choose stays the hour all year.

You choose a rhythm rather than a type of lesson. Starter means 1 lesson a week, Growth 2 and Accelerator 3. In every case your child spends 25 minutes live with a real teacher, one to one, in the CurioKids online classroom.

A plan with more weekly lessons lowers the price of each lesson: Accelerator costs least per lesson, Starter least in total. There are no books to buy, as lesson materials come with every plan.
Do families in Armenia pay in dollars or dram?
CurioKids prices for Armenia are in US dollars, and that's the currency you're charged in. It's set by the country you choose when you create your parent account, and the amount on your plan is the amount billed. If your card is in Armenian dram, your bank converts each dollar payment at its own rate, so the dram figure on your statement can change slightly from one period to the next.
Payments go through Stripe, and CurioKids never sees your full card number. Your bank can tell you whether your card is ready for payments in another currency.
What is part of every plan?
Every plan includes the same: live, 1-to-1, 25-minute lessons with a real teacher for children aged 4 to 12, in the CurioKids online classroom with video, an interactive whiteboard, lesson slides and games. Most children start with Phonics Starter, our 52-lesson reading course, then move through CEFR-based levels Pre-A1, A1 and A2. Teachers give feedback after lessons, you follow progress in your parent dashboard, and there is no charge for materials. See our curriculum and safety pages.
A child who reads Armenian already understands capital and small letters and how sounds blend into words; what's new is the English letters and their irregular spelling. The reading course builds these up in order, and teachers spend time on the English vowels, th, w and the softer English r. CurioKids follows its own curriculum and isn't linked to school exams in Armenia.
How does billing every 4 weeks fit the school year in Armenia?
In Armenia the school year generally starts in September and runs to a long summer break, with a winter break around New Year and a few other holidays; your child's school will have the dates. Because each billing period is exactly 4 weeks, every payment brings the same number of lessons, so a holiday-heavy month doesn't cost you more.
Plans bill every 4 weeks, not by calendar month, so every billing period has the same number of lessons: 13 payments a year. Every plan can be paid weekly instead, and paying every 4 weeks costs less than four weekly payments. You're charged when you subscribe and then at the start of each billing period. Your price is locked on your subscription, so future price changes don't affect you. You can change plan or cancel anytime, and cancel a single lesson up to 2 hours before it starts.
If you're away over the New Year holidays or travelling in the summer, cancel those lessons and leave the plan in place. When school and music or sport fill the week, a spell on Starter keeps English ticking over without crowding everything else.
When would lessons happen in Armenia time?
When you book, every lesson time is shown in Armenia time. With no clock change in Armenia, the slot you start with in autumn needs no adjusting later. A 25-minute lesson after school, roughly between 4pm and 8pm, is often easiest to fit around homework, clubs and dinner.
Saturday or Sunday mornings give a quieter option, and younger children are often at their brightest then. Our guide to online lessons across time zones has tips for finding a slot that lasts.
Which plan suits a child in Armenia?
Many children in Armenia learn Russian as well as English, so think about the whole language load and your child's energy:
- Starter, 1 lesson a week: a child already studying two foreign languages who needs English speaking practice without overload.
- Growth, 2 lessons a week: a child learning to read in a third alphabet, for whom a second lesson keeps new letter sounds fresh.
- Accelerator, 3 lessons a week: a child who loves English and wants to speak it with confidence sooner, as long as three lessons don't feel like too many.
You can change plan at any point, so start where it feels comfortable. Our guide how many English lessons a week does my child need? goes through it, and online English lessons for children in Armenia looks at English beside Armenian and Russian.
How does the cost compare with language centres and tutors in Armenia?
Parents in Yerevan and other towns often weigh up group courses at a language centre, a private tutor, or learning online. Each sets its fees differently, so put them side by side on the same terms:
- The price of each lesson after dividing the fee, and the number of minutes in it.
- How many children the teacher looks after at once, and your child's share of speaking.
- What the course does about lessons your child misses through illness or travel.
- Extra charges for coursebooks, a starting test or registration.
- The cost and time of getting to lessons, for you as well as your child.
When a group shares a teacher, each family usually pays less per hour; in a 1-to-1 lesson, the teacher's attention stays on your child throughout. Our guide 1-to-1 or group English classes: which suits my child? covers both.
Can my child have a free first lesson in Armenia?
Yes. Create your parent account, add your child and book a time, without giving card details. In the 25-minute lesson, the teacher finds out what your child can already say and read and records a starting level, for children aged 4 to 12. You decide afterwards; if you'd rather not continue, nothing is charged and nothing needs cancelling.

Frequently asked questions
Are CurioKids prices for Armenia in dram?
No, plans for Armenia are priced in US dollars. You can pay with a card in Armenian dram, and your bank converts each payment at its own exchange rate.
My child learns Russian too. Is one lesson a week enough?
For many children it is a good start, especially with two other languages to keep up. If English starts to slip between lessons, you can move to two a week at any time.
Do CurioKids lessons follow the school English programme in Armenia?
No. CurioKids has its own CEFR-based curriculum and isn't linked to local exams. The speaking, listening and reading your child builds still support English at school.
How do I cancel if lessons don't suit us?
Cancel your plan whenever you like; it stops at the end of the billing period you've paid for. If you only need to skip one lesson, cancel it up to 2 hours ahead.
